Ok just gave my old v/card away, so i need to buy a new one, i've set a budget of $200 but i could go another $50 if need be.

It's for games. I'm an Nvidia lover myself but would go with ATI.

Any advice would be appreciated

I am not sure of US prices, but surely a 9600XT or 9800 pro (hard to tell difference these days) is going to be where you are at.... Your budget sort of falls short of the next generation cards - so you just want to take advantage of the good prices on the last generation ones now, no?

yep looks like the last generation is your best bet for the price. At Fry's Elelctronics website I can get a BFG Asylum 256MB OC (overclocked)Video Card with nVidia's GeForce FX 5700le Chip For $160

though I did find a GeForce 6 6800 series card on fry's website for $250

or you can go to places like newegg.com pricewatch.com

do any cards for $250 or less have DDR2 or 3 on them?

The odds are fairly small if any do as the price point for DDR2 and 3 is still high and it seems to be in short supply

thanks for the help, i think i'm going to get a 6800.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
