What spyware causes browsers to crash when save as window appears?

Hey guys,

I recently had a really bad bout with spyware, that for the most part I believe I was successful in containing. The worst thing I had on here was something called Vundo. I was able to remove the majority of the spyware by using both VundoFix as well as SUPERAntiSpyware.

I'm still having this horrendous problem though that I can't get rid of. It seems that with both Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer 7, whenever I go to a website to download something, I have problems. I can navigate web pages fine, however anything that makes the "Save As or Save To" window appear where i choose to save something, crashes the browser. Doesn't matter which browser. I can't even save my mozilla bookmarks because that forces the save to window to open and it crashes.

Do you guys happen to know what spyware specifically may cause this to happen? I'm running a quick SUPERAntiSpyware run on my machine now to see if there's anything actively running on my computer that shouldn't be, but beyond that I'm lost. My other tech support forums haven't exactly been helpful to me. :(

Wow thats a big log.

Get rid of all the toolbars and anything with viewpoint in it. See if that helps. Otherwise I don't see any Virtumonde or crap like that. I've never used superantispyware before, you might want to try spybot, that usually finds everything. Removing everything might take a bit of extra work though.

This looks like a remnant of a Vundo infection, remove them, reboot and post a new log:

I was a little concerned while doing it. I presently have TeaTimer running, which notifies you when something is attempting to make setting changes or not. When I removed the SSQLMN or whatever, over and over again it would pop up that it was trying to make a change to the registry where it was re-adding itself, since I blocked it in the past. Fortunately I note that it isn't in the log anymore. I think I will uninstall the remaining toolbars that I don't need, but do you see anything else that needs to go?

I ran another SUPERAntiSpyware scan last night, and found quite a few objects in my System Restore folder as .dll files. I am going to run Spybot and probably AdAware throughout the day today.

I wouldn't use TeaTimer, even SSD acknowledges that it causes problems. I would also turn off and turn back on system restore to delete previous restore points. That is always a good idea after an infection.

Ok, I have removed both TeaTimer, and have also done the system restore thing. Unfortunately I am still unable to download anything as my browsers are still crashing. Any further ideas? I am going to be running a Spybot S&D Scan while we speak.

Edit: Right now I think everything is fine. I'm not 100% certain, but it seems that I can download files now. I am going to keep testing things out and will get back to you ASAP. J79zlr, thank you so much for the help buddy, I am eternally greatful!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
