What is MCP?

At http://www.newegg.com in the Search box type "chipset heatsink" without the quotes. Search this list for "North", as they more often specify heatsinks as being for the North Bridge but can be used for any chip approximately the same size so it'll work for your South Bridge/MCP.

I tried searching for "chipset heatsink north" but for some reason it didn't give me all the results.

Some of the items are heatsinks only and some are heatsink+fan, and they all probably come with whatever is necessary to attach them. I haven't looked through all of them, but some of the best/bigger ones may require holes in the motherboard around the chip to mount them; some motherboards have the holes. If you don't have those holes, then look for the kind of heatsink that just sticks to the chip directly.

No matter what, I would recommend a copper heatsink if you're going to get one at all, but don't let it stop you if the kind you want isn't available in copper but only aluminum. You choose whether or not you want a fan.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
