Where can I get a Free DVD software player that doesn't come with spyware?
windows media player 10, winDVD (it usually comes with the dvd drive)... hmm can't think of other ones
windows media player 10 says it needs codecs to play dvds. Where can I get the right ones?
powerdvd, nothing beats it ..
VLC Media Player.
powerdvd isnt free
WinDVD and PowerDVD are not free. One of them usually comes with the DVD drive though. If you have either of them installed, WMP10 will be able to play DVD's too. None of the codecs for WMP10 are free, as far as I know.
If you want something free, your best bet is to go with VLC, as was suggested above.
I agree with what you all said, but isn't VLC playing DVDs without hardware acceleration (video card's one) ? In this case, with a rather fast machine, is the quality to be expected really equal ?
you could try using your neighbor's dvd player that would be free
My vote goes with VideoLan (VLC) if your on Windows.
Does the Klite Full Codec pack have spyware?
It contains the Cyberlink Dvd Decoder file... in the setup make sure you select it from the long list of items not included in the install.
Then you can watch your dvds in Media 10.
