What are these files???

In my C drive, I have 9 files all labeled FOUND.001, FOUND.002, FOUND.003 right through to 9.

These files contain smaller FILECHECK files with the description “recovered file fragments” underneath each little Filecheck file.

What are these files? And can I delete them??

Yeah, I had these files sometime ago. You can delete them safely.

Those are lost file chains that were found, corrected & saved by checkdisk. By all means, delete them.

Yes, these are "error checking" remnants from the Disc checking XP utlilty that used to be Scandisk.
