Way to show filesize and freespace in explorer?

Hey everyone,

one thing that has been frustrating me about winXP is that in Explorer it doesnt' show you how large a file is when you highlight it like it used to in Win98.

Now I have to right-click and click on properties of my hard drive just to see what my freespace is.

Does anyone know how to make Explorer behave more like it did in Win98 so that it shows the filesize of any highlighted file AND freespace at the bottom of the screen?

Thanks!

If you allow the cursor to hover over the file a balloon will open with the file details (including size). As for how much room is left on the drive, without using a third party tool the only way I know of us in My Computer.

Yeah, as lazy as it is... I just hate doing that. At least with Win98 it was instantaneous.

Thanks for the tip though :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
