I wish to remove Vista from my computer and use Windows xp instead. The vista install was not an upgrade.

Can I reformat the HDD from the Windows XP disc or does this have to be done Vista disc?

    Many thanks

if its a pre built machine you will have to keep the recovery partition - if its a system you have built there is no reason why you cant downgrade

If you have a proper XP disc you should be able to format the HDD etc with that no problem.
