No, it's not bloated and has an IM componant rather than a chat client.
No comparison really... The server browser is alot better in gamespy now, which in turn is alot better than the old HL server browser.

Sorry, I missed your post.

Well the new Steam has an integrated IM which is alot more efficient than Gamespys playerspy as it is integrated, you can talk to you buddies when they are in a game and with 2 clicks join the game they are in.

The server browser nearly has as many filter options and is alot faster and can be run while you are in a game.

Gamespy does now support Steam, but why would you need it?

Why would I need what, which one? I'm lazy right now, so I'm sticking with gamespy for now I guess.
