Hey! If everyone could post their useful registry changes her in this thread maybe we could make it easier to search for stuff that has to do with the registry. This one might even make sticky. :)

I only do one tweak to the registry
    disable shortcut overlay arrows

delete the reg key ~ "isshortcut"
    from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \lnkfile

One registry edit that I have done a search for and can't seem to find, and maybe someone can help out...

I want to take that damn "HELP" from my Start Menu.

    Thanks

Ill post a few of my favorites.

Ive got a reg file that removes the "links" folder from IE permanently once you delete it.

Ive got a reg file that allows you to search google from the address bar by default instead of MSN for IE.

Ive got a reg file that speeds up the start menu.

ive got a reg file that allows you to rename the recycle bin

    You can grab them there

    hematic, that's a nice contribution

if you get a chance on that page, it would be nice to post the manual method of each reg file for those that like to do it on their own

The other stickies are too long to find what you need. Maybe an admin or a mod could gather (based on user troubles or complaints about their computers) the top 50 or so reg files. After that, close the thread and edit it when a new problem arises or there are obvious omissions.

It is not hard to view the file and see what changes are made...
