UPS Help!!!

hmm ive tried a few more possibilities with windows generic ups software and none of it reads it correctly, how about if i was to hook it up to a smaller wattage UPS? so that in the event of a power failire by the time this one kicks out and then it can start on the smaller wattage one n get turned off then automatically or i take it ups's cannot work like that

If its ok to do that then how come a few computer places ive been to say otherwise would it be just for them wantin to sell a UPS or what lol, just wantin to find out because i dont wanna f**K anything up

You are daisy-chaining basically, I do the same wth 3 ups here at work
As long as the UPS is getting a good AC feed why should it care

Normal:

[ MAINS ] ----> [ UPS 1 ] ----> [ UPS 2 ] ----> PC

Powercut:

[ MAINS ] --x-- [ UPS 1 ] ----> [ UPS 2 ] ----> PC

[ MAINS ] --x-- [ UPS 1 ] --x-- [ UPS 2 ] ----> PC

Now either of these will occur:

a)

[ MAINS ] --x-- [ UPS 1 ] --x-- [ UPS 2 ] (shutdown triggered) ----> PC

[ MAINS ] --x-- [ UPS 1 ] --x-- [ UPS 2 ] --x-- PC

b)

[ MAINS ] ----> [ UPS 1 ] ----> [ UPS 2 ] ----> PC

ok kool ill give it a shot n c wat happens, seein the windows default UPS software detects the comp is on ac power n then wants to shut it down all the time lol

Well we set ours to stay on for as long as possible (gives it about 3 minutes to shut down... which is sometimes enough )

thanks for ur help after alot of testing all seems to be fine now i just need proper power outs to see if it stuffs up
