unable to change wallpaper

i've been playing around with mmc on my network and some how on on of the computers i can no longer change the desktop wallpaper anymore. the option isn't there. i've gone back into mmc and changed all the settings back to not configured but it still won't work. any ideas?

by the way, i'm using windows 2000 pro

Have you accidently set policies on that machine?

Try this reg key:

HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper

Try changing it there.

Or try these registry settings:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"NoDispBackgroundPage"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"NoDispBackgroundPage"=dword:00000000

last 1 = enable (policy)
last 0 = disable
