yeah i will do that prbably..

well what i did in the time..

i went into DOS mode and put the CD in..
changed to CD drive and ran setup.exe...

well i got a
"This program cannot be run in DOS mode" message..
well now i wonder.. how can it boot properky and set windows up if it can't run in DOS..?? well i will return it tomorrow and get a new one ..

With a brand new system before you can install an operating system you have to partition and format the hard disk.
Although you can see the disk in the bios it is not recognised when you go to install XP because it has not been partitioned and formatted.

You will have to use FDISK to partition the disk and then use FORMAT to format the drive. You should then be able to install XP.

You should be able to find these files on the XP cd rom.
