I saw a couple of different threads for turning off some of the services, and I am wondering which thread would be the best to use. I beleive that there were some differences between them, and also does it really effect the speed of Win XP that much that it would be recognizable. Thanks for any info on this

<<<<<<< stopped messing with the services after tweaking XP into stupid mode, no real perfomance gained by disabling these services, just created more problems. I would recommend turning off some of the GUI to enhance performance - in My PC properties - advanced - performance options tab - untick all the fade & slide options.
