the actual thing should be turn it into a 9700 not a 9700PRO...

the quality of the ram is not as high therefore it can't be clocked as high

btw... boards are tested.. those that are not up to QC specs for 8 pipelines have 4 disabled and are sold as a 9500 card...

this does not work with a 9500pro btw...

also ATi does not sell the 9500 cards... only the 9700pro and 9500pro... the 9500 is sold by partners such as sapphire

again do the software mod @ your own risk
