tsunami disaster and appeal

Very sad news.. glad to hear your parents are fine Saz. It's also good to know many people are donating. I shall do it too soon.

I just found out my cousin is hospitalised and hos wife is missing. They were in Khao Lak when the waves hit.

Wow, hopefully your cousin recovers fast and his wife is found =/ Wish you and your cousin all the best.

Zedric, wishing your cousin a speedy recovery, and hope his wife is okay. :ermm:

An opportune time to post this again:

List of relief organizations taking donations for Tsunami aide. Pick your favorite (or whichever ones have websites that haven't crashed from the volume of donations).

My donations were to:
-Doctors Without Borders
-International Committee of the Red Cross (general disaster fund)
-International Committee of the Red Cross (Tsunami fund took 3 days to access)
-American Red Cross (Tsunami Fund)
-UN World Food Program (Tsunami Fund)
-UNICEF (Tsunami Fund)

These groups all had help on the ground in the first 2 days. You may be providing help to Zedric's Cousin.

I think my cousin will be ok, but I found out his wife was found dead later that day. :( Her parents had flown down to look for her and found her in one of the temples.

:( :(

i donated to the UN world food program, my wife donated to the red cross...

I posted this on another site... The donation effort has turned out good, though the UN is expecting it to take 10 years for the region to recover.

However, flash flooding in some of the areas is making it difficult for relief supplies to arrive to some remote locations where the flash floods are also believed to be increasing the risk of water borne diseases

It is good to see people pull together to try to assist one another from these types of disasters, especially after news report after news report of people blowing each other up and chopping people's heads off (aka Iraq).

Found this on another board. It's worth mentioning for those who are uncertain concerning the fate of some of their family/friends who got caught in the tsunami.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
