Translucent desktop icons?

I think it'd be kinda neat to see part of my wallpaper in my desktop icons, but that's just me. I searched for a topic like this, and I found one about something going wrong in some tutorial on this site about it, but it had no link. I can't find it, either. ;X

you do the transparency by using Alpha Channels in the Icon image. I think if you are using Photoshop then it is under the Layers thing.

Not sure exactly what the alpha channels things need to be.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
