to keep wondows open on reboot

    elemental dragon had mentioned that he liked when some version of the os kept windows that you were working on open on reboot

    this is a setting that was on by default on some os's off on xp

    if you like it, you can turn it back on;


    open an explorer window (wondows key+e)

    tools, folder options, view, "restore previous folder windows at log in"

    close, apply to all folders

    looks like it would come in handy for most users, give it a go

    I think putting a shortcut to a folder in the Startup folder would also accomplish the same thing. I don't think I've tried doing that in XP, but in previous versions it was possible.
