well..... i might as well post since i just got a new Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo, socket AM2 Athlon 64 X2 3800+, and 1GB of OCZ Gold DDR2 667. haven't really tested it with anything heavy yet though.....

just joined the club, got centrino duallies on this laptop

to be honest, I am dissapointed with the performance, this thing has 2 gigs of memory, two processors, a faster hardrive, and really doesn't perform much better then my lap with one 64 bit and 512 mb memory...programs launch about the same speed, I guess I'm not swapping as much...I'm sure I'll notiice the differance when I put a load on the thing

I might start folding now that I have dually, I'm sure there has to be a differancee there...I'm on laptop and wouldn't get many packets in, I couldn't leave the thing running all night with these tiny fans and all, and most of the time I'm on a cdma connection

I'm probably gonna swap this one out when my store has the 64 dually, which is available and I don't know why my retailer didn't already have it

Dual core == needs multi-threaded apps to really take off.

If you are seriously multi-tasking, you will notice much greater performance improvements.

Wrt folding, you can reduce processor usage in the folding app and using the multi-core tool in my sig, you can fold at least 2 units at once if you wanted to. It's how I roll
