Guys .. just finished installing Win98 SE into a new machine and up comes the blue screen of death with the following message.

A fatal exception has occured at 0028:C0003B31 in VxD VMM(01) + 00002B31. Blah blah blah blah ...

The second time it appears as 0028:C127FA23.

Any idea what is wrong please? Trying to pin point the exact problem which I suspect could be some jumper settings error on the mainboard, the mainboard itself is problematic, or the processor itself .. ?? :D

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Is there a file mentioned? I see it's in a VxD file, so it must be either a driver issue, or a bad memory. First update all your drivers to the latest versions (if that's possible, as I read it correctly, this occurs during startup). Secondly (when it's impossible to startup), if you have two or more memory modules, try taking one out and startup again. Try that one in all mem-slots available to see if the problem goes away, do the same with the second and third mem module (if you have them). See what combination works best.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
