Textures inexplicably became less sharp

I was happily playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, grateful that I hadn't experienced a single sound problem, installation problem, or framerate nightmare.

This morning, I started playing and noticed the textures had dropped a TON in quality. The texture looks like I dropped from Aniso to Bilinear. I tried forcing 16x aniso in the settings, but it didn't seem to work. The normal mapping and pixel shaders are working fine, but the textures look awful.

Ever hear of a problem like this, or now how to fix it?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
