Temperatures...this is funky!

If you are torn between two fans, an exhaust fan is more important. Also, I use Artic Silver III when the metals commodity dips a bit.

Possibly, that is warm. Very warm for a 900!

I would take off the hsf, wipe off all thermal paste and put a new VERY THIN layer of paste on the cpu die.

+ clean the fins on the HS.

See if it makes a difference.

I wanna get myself a new hsf, and some compound, now i have a stockhsf(intel), and it runs idle 39C and load no more then 42C...1.3 ghz celeron @ 1.48 ghz...what do recommend? don't care about noise very much, and how do i put that compound on there....haven't got a clue????

Dont know why you would want to get a new one, those temps are pretty d@mn good.

grinder... nice sys specs btw... just a question... your dvd player is 40x lol... I wish I could buy one... lol....

btw isn't a pentium suposed to run cooler than amd processors? if it is running at 40 deg c or thereabouts and is a 1.3 gig system... is that NOT high?

I dunno.. I always thought that intel proccesors were able to be aircooled and stuff and that they were much cooler than an AMD rig..

my temps topped out at 40 for the first time yesterday... at over 60% cpu usage... and the fan speed was at 3700 RPM..

I just installed a volcano 7 on my cpu...

No Saz, Runs at 36 Idle and 39 load. That cool is you ask me, I recently had a amd 2000+ with volc 7 hsf, and could not get it to run under 50C for the life of me.

and yes, Im using the stock 2700 RPM fan.

not using artic silver, have a tube under bar, using stock thermal tape.

I may try the artic silver, but it running cool right now....why pi$$ with it?
