Task Manager Processes

  1. I'm new to messing with my system. What the heck are all those processes running when I look at the task manager? I can't imagine that 43 of them are really necessary.

How do I find out what they are so I can decide what I really need and stop the others from loading?

    Russell - a little help!

Go to http://www.answersthatwork.com/ ,click "library of answers that work", click "the task list" on the right. Listed alphabetically it has quite a few listed there with explanations.

Eh, since you've really got no clue, I would tell you that, Yes, they are all necessary. It's way too easy for you to fook your system in no time at all if you disable the wrong service. And you may or may not remember what you changed before it broke. If you're going to do this, get your latest version of "Paper" and the newest input device, pencil 1.0 and write down everything you do, so you have this handy should you need it.
