i've been trying to get a shoutbox working..
i've found a guide which tells u how to make one...
so far i've gotten this far and it doesnt seem to be working. the guide i got is attatched..

whats the culprit?

You may want to try a different shoutbox.

http://shoutbox.sf.net is the one I use.

seriously though, it tells you what line the error is on. look it up and see if you can sort it out, or post on here if you have any more troubles

I got that earlier until i changed shoutboxconf.php to look for the CSV file as opposed to SQL.

If you do want to use SQL though, you need to create a database and then run setup-mysql.php


All the instructions are in the readme file, you can't go wrong.

As i said, read the readme that comes with the shoutbox (it's in the /docs/ folder), there's no way you can go wrong if you follow what it says.
I've just set two up myself. Well, one. Then changed my mind and re-installed it

There are places that provice (customizable) shoutboxes for free.
Try putting "free shoutbox" into google

And when I said there are places providing them, I meant actually hosting pre-configured ones.
