Anyone know of any program that will allow me to take still shots from movies i have running on my screen?

  2. In WMP9 go to options - performance - advanced and uncheck 'Use Overlays'.

I use Hypersnap DX. To capture movies and DVDs and the like, go to "Capture" then "Enable Special Capture" and check the three top options.

  4. Disabling an option is easier than using a third party program.

Yup, turn overlays off and you can simply hit print screen and paste in to the graphics app of your choice. :)

The thing is, I don't use Windows Media Player to play DVDs, and most DVD programs dont have a working option to capture the screen. I use Hypersnap for its other functions as well.

    PlagueWielder's idea is free.

Adobe Premiere is a great "pay for prog". :)

What DVD program are you using? WINDVD and PowerDVD both have screen capture capabilities.

  10. In Power DVD you press C to capture a frame from any movie. I have thousands of shots on my machine from movies.
