Status Bar keeps disappearing!

This has been a problem with XP from the start. How do you keep the IE window's status bar always on? It will randomly disappear, then I click View-Status Bar, and it stays on for next few IE windows, then disappear again!

Also when you re-size the IE window in XP, it will permanently place all windows into that same size/location no matter how you try to move/resize it again.

    Any clues?
    Thanks!

you have to do it throught the windows explorer, as that is integrated with the internet explorer.

windows key+e, view, status bar, view, save view...that'll do it
