I get paid in 2 weeks (hurrayyy!!) - and I fancy forking out for new speakers, and wondered if anyone here had any ideas on what would be the best.

I'm looking for a 2.1 system - but one that emulates surround sound, like the pair ive got now. I'd also like them to be black/silver-ish to match the new computer, if possible, and a subwoofer wouldnt be missed. Wireless might be good too, but I dont have much to fork out. I like the look of the Creative lot, but I'm hoping to aim for around £50-£100, £100 only if I see something I MUST have.

I look forward to your replies, this outta be good. (by good I mean expensive as hell :p )

I use a mecury desktop with two speakers attached, have done for 4 years.

I think you want a set of speakers with satellite's, that sounds loud and will really piss off your neighbours, so I dunno about those types. SORRY!

    nuff said.

The "virtual surround" can be done in software. Most players that have plugin's will have a plug in to accomplish this. SOL for games though, unless the games support it.

Altec Lansing makes some excellent speaker systems too.

    Tis true^^

And I just reread your first post and saw your price range. I'd say look at some Logitech's at that price point.
