Anyone got a idea how to get past this?
Only 1 account on computer
Check the file permissions on the all users directory.
How do you do that?
A n00b when it comes to Windows XP
Navigate to the c:\documents and settings\all users directory using explorer, right click the directory and select properties. If you then select the security tab and it will list the users and their respective access permissions. (See attached)
security dont come up
You've got simple file sharing enabled. Open a folder, click on the tools menu, folder options, view tab. Right at the bottom of the option list is use simple file sharing, deselect this tick box and the security tab should appear.
Havent got that either
This why i couldnt do when i looked on google
Are you using xp home or pro?
Said it already but edited post and forgot to add it again
And checking you can access the directory which the installation program brings up in it's error message? Also can you copy a file into it?
Dont understand what you mean?
I mean the directory that appears in the error message c:\documents and settings\all users..... can you browse to that using explorer? Also, if you can, try creating a new file from thr right click menu.
