man In've been having some update problems, got this new one, 80073712 and microsoft had to walk me through the fix, here it is;
C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml. If the pending.xml exists, please delete it. If it cannot be deleted, let's take ownership of this file. If the file did not exist, please skip this and try Step 2.

1: Take Ownership of pending.xml

-----------------------------------

1. Right click pending.xml and left click on properties.

2. On the Security tab, click on "Advanced"

3. On the Owner tab, click Edit.

4. Click Other users and groups.

5. Type the account we use in Windows Vista and click OK.

6. Select the account we have just added.

7. Click OK to apply to the changes.

2: Assign full control permission of the file to the Administrator account:

---------------------------------------------------

1. Right-click the file pending.xml again, and then click Properties.

2. Click the Security tab, and then click Edit.

3. Highlight the account we use in Windows Vista, check the Full control box, and then click OK.

After that, please right click pending.xml file, click Delete to remove the file.

that worked for me, there is a part two but it requires sending a file and since part one worked I won't have part two to post

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
