I'm looking a software that will enable me to watch movies in vcd format. Previously, I use XingMPEG Player but is there other player that has better image quality and speed ?

WiredBrain,

I think you'll find that PowerDVD that Shotokhaan linked to is not freeware.

For VCD format, there are quite a few decent freeware players, although some require external codecs.

Have a look at http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools.htm#players

I like I-VCD Player because it's small and simple & can autoplay VCD's, but as many of them are free - there's not much to stop you trying several out & seeing which one you think is the best quality!

cheers,

mcdruid.

You can play VCDs with Media Player. SVCD's however require another program. Popular ones are PowerDVD and WinDVD, but if I'm correct, the new Quicktime should play SVCDs too.

Kind regards,

Another question, how long will it take to convert a 90 minutes vcd into bin images ?

why 3D party softwares?
like eNuffSaid - said- Windows Media player does the job..free many features.

Any of the SP crew still out there?
