slowing shutdown + restart

    when i want to shutdown and restart the pc . its become slow. any tips to make it faster . i forgot about the value to change in regedit . and by the way is it the system idle procces in taskmanager can be stop. it eat my pc ferfomance.

    system idle doesn't do anything, it only looks like its using resources, don't worry about it


    Speed up shutdown
    try this

    open regedit

    Hkey_Local_Machine/system/controlset001/control

    then change waittokillservicetimeout to a lower number like 3000 or 4000 (or lower)...that way xp will wait less time before killing services as it shuts down
