Hey

I have the LG CD-RW CED-8120B and its reading really slow. Im re-installing Vice City (too much modding :p) and its going really slow. Its been running for about an hour and its not at 50% yet.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

May be a bad CD, may be dust on the lens. Compressed air works against dust. :)

I dont know it is like that but on mine for some reason the cd/rw just reads slow , it works fine overall but I added a 52x lite-on Cd just for the purpose of reading cd's , installing, and what not and Iam happy , my cd/rw is new and it burns great but nothing like a good ole LITE-ON for me :)

I'm pretty sure all you need is an ASPI update for your drive. I had the same problem, wondering why my 48x burner kept taking half an hour to burn a cd, and sometimes it even errored out. It'll usually be Adaptec but check your drive and make sure you have the latest ASPI update. Check M$ site for more info on ASPI, it doesn't come native in XP http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;182542

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
