shutdown problem

    when i shut down my comp its taking on average 70 seconds its only started doing this in the past day.anyone know why or how i can get it back to quick shut downs?

    I had the same problem but it was taking me 4-5 mins to shut down. Mine had to do with a game I installed that had conflicts with XP. I had to reinstall everything and then only install what was good for XP or had patches.

    It could be some application or software you installed that XP doesn't like.

    its only started happening since i installed evidence eliminator ive since unistalled that but the shut downs still take forever.

    Try system restore if you have a recent restore point.

    tried that it wont let me restore.
