    Shut down Help!!

    My sisters computer gives me the screen that it is now safe to shut down the computer. I have enabled the APM and now it just restarts instead of shutting down. How can I fix this so that the computer shuts all the way down without having to turn it off by the switch?

    Well I read all of that and there is nothing in there that helped. I also reformatted it for her and that didnt even help. Its an old Compaq 380mhz K6-2 if that helps any.

    for now, create a shortcut with this target;

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\tsshutdn.exe 0 /DELAY:0 /POWERDOWN

    leave it on your desktop

    if you want, create a keyboard shortcut to the powerdown by right clicking the shortcut after you create it, bring focus to the box that says "shortcut", and use an f key you don't use.
