I'd like some information on how to make a shortcut to the command prompt and have it automatically do a traceroute to www.rogers.com.

    Thanks for any help.

Hmmmm. I know there are third party tools that can accomplish the tasks...

Do you mean 3rd party tools to do traceroutes or 3rd party tools to make the shortcut I want?

I've tried a few Trace Route programs and none are what I want. Believe it or not, using the command prompt and tracert is all I need and want. Specifically when I copy the route to a text file. Any 3rd party program that I've used adds a bunch of uneeded data or isn't in the format that I'd prefer to have.

I guess it would be how I do run additional commands in the shortcut to achieve the tracroute?

    If you type
    tracert www.rogers.com
in notepad and save it as something.bat you should have what you are looking for.

Thanks. That did the trick but do you know of any ways to stop the window from closing when the trace is finished?

Make a second line and type in:
    pause
