Does anyone else here use Shiira ? (http://hmdt-web.net/shiira/en)

I've used a few other browsers (SeaMonkey, FireFox, Camino) and none have really impressed me enough to replace Safari, however Shiira has really grown on me, and I'm presently using it as my main browser. Anyone else out there using it too ?

:p

Its not a browser, its a shell for the safari rendering engine, much like Maxthon and Avant are shells for the IE rendering engine :p

If someone would port safari's engine to win32 though I'd be happy :)

nope, but I will look at it, though I do wish I had a mac capable of Core Image, that page transitions thing looks quite cool, though I would probably tire of it soon

the base source is available through KDE

thinking about it though, both Safari and Shiira are simply shells around WebKit ;)

Looks interesting. I might have to play around with it when I get some time.

Wrong, it is available from apple. They put the source out for their webkit, anyone can port it anywhere, and then use it for their own uses.

its not wrong, it was derived from the KDE KHTML engine, so the base source is still available from KDE, there are some tweaks you might have to make to get the KDE version inline with WebKit (though KDE might already have done or be working on this, esp if Apple made it available)

Apple made their tweaks available, however in their own format and not one the KDE devs could implement easily straight off. However they did take everything Apple gave them and implemented it in their own ways.

I've still not given this a shot. I really should sometime. :(

You try it yet SPeedY_B?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
