Setting default browser question

I have Windows XP Pro with two user accounts, one for me and one for my parents. For webbrowsing, I use Mozilla Firebird, but my parents rather use Internet Exploiter. I know that I can set a default browser, but that's system-wide. For now I have set IE as the default, but some programs have the ability to click a link (for example, a link in an e-mail in Outlook 2003), and then your default browser opens. In my account I want it to open Firebird, but it starts IE instead.
In short: How can I set IE as the default browser in my parents' account and Firebird in my account? Can I do it by using group policies or whatever?

Look were I almost fell over! An almost forgotten thread, waiting for an answer. In other words: *bump*

Tried looking for an answer yesterday. Can't seem to find any tips on this though. :(
Hopefully, someone else has better luck than I did, and can answer your question.

Thanks for looking. I have just found a Dutch website with a *huge* database, let's see if the answer is there.

Glaanieboy - I am sorry - but I have no help for you - but I can not help but wonder if in your original post Internet Exploiter was intentional?:D

Hehe. My evil plan worked! gna gna gna! Yes, it was intentional. :) :D :p B)

To my knowledge it is not possible to set a user specific default browser.

Hmm, I think I just found the registry value that handles it. I am gonna walk my dog first, then I come back, maybe I can make a registry file that runs at startup.

Yep, I have found the reg values, now I have to create a .reg file, but not now, I am tired -_-

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
