Search problem

i think i have a problem with search in XP... i have been trying to search so files lately and it seems to search for about a second or two and tell me it has found nothing...so i searched for a file i know is on my computer and it gives me the same results ...can someone tell me why my search is not working ?

First, are you sure you aren't just searching on your desktop? Also, check under the "more advanced options" and make sure it isn't searching for case sensitive objects, and for the other 2 dropdowns, make sure you have "don't remember" marked, other than that, not really sure.
