I've been thinking of replacing the REALLY slow 4200rpm drive in my notebook, and so i went to look at some websites for notebooks hdds. What i found was that the Samsung drives were significantly cheaper than others, for example, a 80gb 5.4k samsung cost $250, where a hitachi one cost $390, a Toshiba $320 etc. Ive heard good things about samsungs so far, but $250 seems a bit cheap to me. It doesnt look like a misprint either. Does anyone have a samsung notebook hdd?

From my experience, any of the brands, you mentioned, should do fine. Just pay attention to the size and specs of the drive you want. I have used Samsung, Hitachi and Toshiba drives and they all worked well.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
