Greetings All,

I am running windows XP Corporate edition and If I right click on a file a box will come up with Sharing and permissions. How do I set a password so that if I was running a network you would have to enter a password in order to have access to the folder that is trying to be accessed? If this makes since.

or give me an alternative

Thanks in advance

If you're currently running a Fat32 file system your options are pretty limited. Converting to NTFS will give you a plethora of options for securing your data, including browsing a network and giving permission to only specified users.

Thanks for the effort. But not quite the information I was looking for. I am running windows nt (Xp corporate). There is supposed to be an option when I allow a folder to be shared to establish a password and username in order to change append and delete files from another computer. This is what I'm trying to access.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
