ok, I just built a computer for a family member, everything was good until I installed Windows XP Pro. The first few attempts, I got errors, BSOD stuff. after many tries and messing with the CMOS menu, It installed XP. Then I installed drivers for all of the parts (mouse, keyboard, mobo, etc), this also took awhile because of IRQ errors, donno why that was happening tho.

now everything works fine except that when I turn off (restart/shutdown) the computer, I get a "run32.dll" error, they type of error that has the "end now" button. It pops up real quick but still the computer shutsdown. When I Log back on to XP, I get "Windows has recovered from a serious error." does anyone know why this is happening? can I just copy the run32.dll file from another computer and replace it?

You are sure it doesn't say rundll32.exe? There is no run32.dll in Windows XP.
If it really says run32.dll, I would recommend to run a virus check.
It it says rundll32.exe there should be something more in the error message. Look in eventviewer if you can find something there.

ok well, I just got back from work and stated working on the computer again. It doesnt give me any more errors. :)

I rebooted and shutdown the computer a few times to see if the error was really gone, hopefully it is.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
