restore disk vs. format

    hi, i was wondering what are the pros and cons of using a restore disk or formatting.

    They are not the same thing.. there is NO comparison

    depends what restore disk you are talking about. If it about a proprietary (dell,gateway,compaq..etc etc..) restore disk, definately reformat and put on a clean copy of the OS. This is because you will end up with alot of outdated senseless programs you don't use anyways.

    The best restore disk is one you make using a program like GHOST or Drive Copy after a nice fresh install and all drivers are installed.
