Rename Recycle Bin

is there a way to tottaly rename it/get rid of the name?

This will rename it.

Click Start --> Run and enter REGEDIT.
Navigate to the following Registry branch:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/
CurrentVersion/Explorer/CLSID

Recycle Bin:{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

Double click the Default value in the above keys and enter the text you want to use.
Then Right click on the Desktop and select Refresh to see the changes.
To undo the changes, just right click on the Default value and select Delete. Refresh the Desktop to see that things are back to normal.

b-man seems you put the wrong regfiles in your zip.

BenQuilter if you perhaps change your mind from time to time and would prefer to have a rename option in the rightclick menu of the recycle bin here is the way to do it:

open regedit and find the key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08 -00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder.
Select this, on the right there's a binary value called Attributes. Rightclick it, 'modify'. Instead of 40 01 00 20 it should read 50 01 00 20 to have a 'rename' option. In XP, you'll also need to edit the dword string called "CallForAttributes" there. Set it to 0x00000000 (0).

To give it no name then rightclick, choose rename and press the space key. Should work.

btw hipster, i figured out why there was that weird shadow behind it. i had selected "lock items to desktop" and that was causing it.
