Removing Compaq Welcome Screen

Hi Guys,

Can anyone show me how to remove to the Compaq splash screen that comes on when I boot up. Thanks in advance.....

use stylexp to change your logon screen...

i think he means the pre-boot screen you get on oem pc's (mine got an Hp invent splash screen) when u turn power on u get the screen for like 3 seconds before normal boot continues.

oh that one. Me have a compag pc also... I think you had to mess with the bios to remove that screen

Look for something in the BIOS about a splash screen and disable it

I prefer the editing of the registry to change your welcome screen, after all, what's the point of downloading third party software just to make a simple change. Once you have another logonui.exe that you want to use, follow these steps.

Start
Run
regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Change value of UIHOST to point to login file

i.e. C:\Program Files\Logins\logonui.exe

Mad_matt het doesnt mean the welcome screen, but the screen that will show up when you boot your rig...

Hi guys,

Yes I do mean the actual boot up screen from Compaq, not the welcome screen. This screen comes up right at first, before the "Welcome" screen from my XP. Same kind of screen that DELL has before its XP welcome screen kicks in. Thanks for all your help, guys.
