Recycle Bin

    Does anyone know how to remove the Recycle Bin from the desk top?
    any help would be appreciated!

    Im following Catch23's dirrections. Im running xp. So far I've learned I can change the icon to nothing but its not actually gone.

    Sorry. :eek: Just looked in there & you are right. No way to get rid of the icon in question. Try doing a forum search.

    If you don't wanna download software and maybe want to lose the Bin but keep your "My Computer" icon on the Desktop. You could try this method:-
    Make your way here in the Registry:-
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

    and change the last letter into an a
    Close the Registry and click "F5"
