ok what is the problem here
i have the latest drivers which are SBLiveXPDrvUpdate3509.2.0.0.exe
so i have it set on 4 way speakers.
it works but when i reboot, its still set to 4 way but the rear speakers dont work. i have to goto the setup and reactive 4way, then it works.

so how can i keep this so i dont have to do that everytime i reboot

Welcome to SB Live - I also have the same problem and it is solved exactly the same you as you described. I also contacted creative labs and they were no help. I have tried and looked every where for a fix, but nothing works - looks like you will just have to put up with it for now.

i used to have that problem, but i got an audigy and sold my live!.

i think fourdices means go into control panel, sounds, advanced button, and set it to quadraphonic speakers. when i had a live!, i think i tried this, but can't be certain.

btw, the audigy does sound better, imo. at least with digital out.
