Just wondering, how you guys feel about Windows XP SP1?
I'm not sure if I should apply this SP1. There are mix info that i get. Some says it is good but some says it causes more problem, especially to windows settings.

I'm happy with current windows XP, so not too sure if it is a good idea to apply SP1.

Also, i read somewhere that there is some security issue on the "Help Desk" thing in windows XP and can only be fixed with SP1.

can someone please give some comment?

    thanks

I've installed on bout five computers and they worked fine. I will also say that some were done after a clean install of XP on three different systems, the other two were done without a clean install and they all work well. Well yes there is a problem with the Help Desk in XP and its is fixed with the SP, that said its also true that you can fix that problem with out the SP as there is a free tool over at grc.com that fix's the help desk problem called XPdite I would suggest installing the service pack or using this free tool to fix the help desk.

    fix the help desk

  4. dont mess with your system while it kinda works as some one said around here. i totaly agree with it now. dont do it. i formated like 3 times after that sp1, 2 different windows version. damn.

So if I vote for option 3:

Do you apply SP1 to Windows XP Pro? Do you recommend others to apply it? No, i applied SP1. Yes, i recommend.

Seriously tho, this adds nothing great, but if you want to feel mroe secure go ahead.
