Random shut-downs

Just this week, Windows started to randomly shut down on me. It hasn't yet happened while I've been around, only presumably after it shuts off the monitor, so unfortunately I can't put a time on it, though it has stayed on for as long as 7 or 8 hours, and sometimes as short as 1 hour or maybe less. I ran a virus scan and ad-aware and found nothing. Nothing unusual in the power management options, all of the temps are okay. Nothing else on the power strip shuts off, just the computer. I'm baffled, thanks for any help.

do you have auto reboot on error turned off in xp so you can see the BSOD msg? if your not getting BSOD I would first suppect possible power supply. Also have you installed any new drivers and/or hardware around the time the probably began?

Looks like you have A Barton 2500+..... have you overclocked it?
They can reboot themselves without a temp hike especially if AGP setting is correspondingly too high etc .

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
