At the moment I have a 512 PC133 SDRAM and a 256 PC 100 SDRAM on my board.I'm thinking of upgrading (always have this 'not fast enough' feelings !).Is there any after effect when a PC 100 and a PC 133 work together ? Thinking of getting another 512 stick a good idea ? My PC is running Celeron 1.1 Ghz with 20 GB HDD.Any opinions will help. Thanks

RAM combos will always run at the slower speed ie, both at PC 100, but if your mobo only supports PC100 then get PC100. If your mobo supports PC133 ditch the 256 PC100 and get another 512 PC133.

Thats true, but I'll think you'll find that pc133 will be either the same price or cheaper than PC100 so he might as well get the pc133 and ditch his pc100 ram. The 512mb alone running at 133mhz would probably give much better performance than 768mb running at 100mhz

Okay, I think I'll ditch that PC100 in the mean time and I've already placed an order for another 512 stick:D

all of your memory runs at the speed of the slowest stick. they can't run at different speeds.

make sure your board can use pc133 memory before you upgrade. no sense it spending that kinda money to have 1gb of pc100. :D
