I've tried so many of these proggies, and none of them improve performance noticably, if at all, on W2K/XP

On Win9X, there was a purpose for these programs, but not on NT platforms IMHO.

All they do is take info from the faster memory, and put it in the slower pagefile. XPs memory management is far better than 9x, although still not perfect. I've yet to see a memory management program do a better job though.

I guess I'm still one of those who believes that "RAM is meant to be used".

Ram is meant to be used...
You really want to go fast then set up a ram drive and have Diskeepper defrag that...

Swapping the memory into the pagefile will SLOW things up...
