RAM doesnt get infected, the ROM on your Mobo can but only by really old viruses. Mainly they just email off to other people. Some of the older ones wiped your hard drive and such, but not so common anymore.

Some of the email viruses delete random files or wipe the harddisk. Remeber CIH? Wiped BIOS. Ouch.

Ram actually can be infected... it works like in your harddisk... as long as your machine has power, data can be kept in the ram. (virus will be kept in there too!) but after you restarted your system, everything will be gone... but if you have the virus start up with your machine.. then you will always have it... to clean it is easy... just use a virus scan... you know when you scan your system it will scan your memory first... that will clean it if it's there.... Good Luck..
